Your vote counts

I attended my first Town Meeting during the pandemic and as I walked around the ball field I remember an incredible feeling of community. I had never participated in Town Meeting Government and was awed how one single vote could change the entire outcome of a hotly debated article. I was hooked. The Provincetown Independent was able to capture my thoughts that day and the article can be accessed here.

Community is everything

Shortly after moving to Truro, I volunteered with Good Neighbor Truro, a grass roots non-profit created during the pandemic for our friends and neighbors who were sheltered in their homes for months. Together we served as their connection to the outside world - delivering important mail, packages, prescriptions and food. The Cape Cod Times captured the essence of our community and can be accessed here. While Good Neighbor Truro is no longer in service, I now enjoy working alongside fellow volunteers at the Truro Community Kitchen to create and deliver meals to the almost 10% of our community who face food insecurity.

It's time to change the conversation

After the highly contentious Pre-Town Meeting postponements last year I wrote a letter to the editor and the feedback from our community was overwhelming. We all want what we think is best for Truro and it’s time now for change. More listening, more seeking to understand and more collaboration. This letter can be accessed here.

“There is no perfect answer for the decisions we are facing as a small town on the Outer Cape, and we all have different perspectives. What if, instead of digging our heels in on these differences, we focus more on what brings us together? More conversations around common ground. More listening to each other, especially when we don’t agree. More communication and more collaboration.” -Nancy Medoff, 12/23
