After thirty years enjoying Cape Cod with the last twelve years right here in Truro - my husband Danny and I moved here to retire and ride off into the sunset at Pamet Harbor. That plan did not include jumping into politics, let alone running for a seat on the Truro Select Board.

Attending my first Town Meeting, and watching an article voted through by one vote was awe inspiring for me.  I had never experienced a Town Meeting form of government before so I jumped right in to learn more about Truro and offer my skills and leadership experience to help lead our Town.

In recent years I’ve have had the privilege of getting to know many members of our wonderful community, and I have gained valuable insight into the inner workings of our Town.  Through my Town committee work I’ve learned a great deal about the nuts and bolts of successfully governing a Town and building a community on the Outer Cape.  I understand the complexities and realities we face as a community; from the urgent need for housing to the delicate balance between preserving our environment and ensuring responsible development.

My extensive committee work in Truro combined with thirty years of professional leadership in the hospitality industry, and a career built on the ability to find common ground is what our Town needs to change the conversation, come together and move forward.

  • Inclusive governance: Four years on Charter Review Committee, last two years as Chair
  • Housing: Ad hoc housing committee, ZBA, Economic Development Committee
  • Climate change and sustainability: Energy Committee
  • Municipal finance: Vice Chair of Economic Development Committee
  • Building and zoning: Two years serving on the ZBA

I am dedicated to finding solutions to support all members of our community.  Together, we can strike a balance that preserves the unique character of Truro while ensuring that every resident has access to the resources and services they need to thrive.

I bring a seasoned, inclusive leadership style with thorough, fact-based decision making and a strong desire to return to community and civility to successfully address the issues driven in part by some of the very qualities that make us such a highly desirable place to live.  I have the temperament to handle the pressures of this role during a time of hot topics and heated discussions.  I am reasonable, responsible and resourceful and it is with a deep sense of duty and love for our community that I am running to serve as your next Select Board member.

And I’m ready.

If you also believe that we are better together I invite you to join me in helping to move our Town towards a stronger future.
